Atelier Yumia – New Trailer Released

This morning KOEI TECMO and Gust released a brand new trailer for Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land. This brand new trailer shows a bit more about the story and Yumia’s friends, as well as the gameplay and some potential enemies. Also, the press release mentions that anyone who buys a digital or physical copy of the game up until two weeks after release, will receive the Athlete of Memories costume for Yumia, the Floating Object of Memories costume for Flammi and the Training Wrist Weight equipment item. Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land is scheduled to launch for Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam on March 21st, 2025.

Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land follows the adventures of Yumia Liessfeldt and her companions as they set off to unravel the mysteries behind the cataclysm that destroyed the once great continent of Aladiss, resulting in alchemy becoming taboo. Mysterious characters obsessed with alchemy such as a Noble in a Black Cloak, a Monocular Werewolf, a Sheep-Eye Witch, and a Dragon-Winged Warrior stand in Yumia’s way.

To prepare for the adventure ahead, players will rediscover the Atelier franchise’s signature synthesizing system in a fresh form by manipulating “mana” to create new items useful in combat or exploration. To create more powerful items, fans will have to master the art of “Resonance Synthesis” by adding ingredients which resonate with each other to the “Alchemy Core” of the recipe. The strength of the resonance will depend on the quality of the ingredients selected.

The combat system has also been revamped in Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land to offer intense real-time combat with intuitive gameplay. The skills available to active team members will depend on their distance from the enemy (close or ranged combat). Compared to previous instalments, players can now move or interchange characters at any time during the fight. When certain conditions are met, a powerful “Friend Action” combo can be unleashed in battle. By meeting certain conditions, players will be able to activate “Mana Surge”, which will allow for exclusive actions to be performed. In addition, each character will have a unique special move, “Maximize Mana Surge”, which can inflict significant damage on enemies.

Journeying alongside Yumia and her friends, players will explore the vast open world of the Aladiss continent. As they travel, they will be able to build their own bases. Thanks to the new “Building” feature, fans will freely be able to create and decorate their atelier from a vast choice of walls, floors, roofs, furniture, and more, or choose to select a predefined base model from the catalog. By increasing the “comfort level” of their atelier, players will unlock bonuses such as the ability to develop their base and enhance the skills of Yumia and her companions.

Lastly, if players do not wish to return to their base during exploration, they will be able to set up a camp where they can spend time cooking, which will provide various benefits during exploration and combat, or resting. Certain character events that can only be seen at camps will sometimes occur, providing greater insight into Yumia and her companions.

Edelweiss and Marvelous have announced Sakuna Chronicles: Kokorowa and the Gears of Creation, a spin-off of the hit action and farm simulation game, Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin. The spin-off follows Kokorowa after she meets a peculiar automaton named Takebina. Meet new gods and tackle this new adventure as Sakuna’s friend, Princess Kokorowa!

Indie Action Roguelite Eternal Palace Sakura Heads to Steam in 2025

Denneko Yuugi, the developer behind the Machina of the Planet Tree games, have announced that their upcoming 3D action roguelite, Eternal Palace Sakura, will be heading to Steam in the latter half of 2025. It is part of the Machina of the Planet Tree series. The player controls Retla, a brown-skinned, cat-eared girl wielding dual blades, as she battles her way through dungeons, getting stronger along the way.

Eternal Palace Sakura will release with support for multiple languages including Japanese, English, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese. A demo is also planned for release in June of 2025. Trails through Daybreak Shizuna Rem Misurugi Figure in Production

Kotobukiya has produced many Trails series figures as of late, including for characters such as Estelle Bright, Rean Schwarzer, Tio Plato, and more. In addition to these already released characters, they are also currently working on figures for Joshua Bright and Elaine Auclair. Now, a new character from the Calvard arc will be joining the figure lineup. Shizuna Rem Misurugi, known as the Divine Blade of Silver, will be receiving her own figure. While not much has been shown of her figure, Kotobukiya has shared sneak peeks of the prototype. You can check those out below.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails through Daybreak was published by NIS America in the west and launched on July 5th, 2024. Its sequel, Trails through Daybreak II, is currently scheduled to launch in the west on February 14, 2024. The latest game in the series, The Legend of Heroes: Kai no Kiseki -Farewell, O Zemuria-, launched in Japan on September 26th, 2024.

XSEED Games has announced an official release date for Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana. The game is scheduled to launch on January 7th, 2025 for Nintendo Switch, PS4 and PS5. Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition Announced

Nintendo has finally announced that they’re bringing Xenoblade Chronicles X to the Nintendo Switch. Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition is scheduled to launch for Nintendo Switch on March 20th, 2025. It’s not the final Wii U exclusive to be ported, but it is one of the biggest games and one fans have been asking to receive on Switch. There are still other games, such as Paper Mario: Color Splash and Kirby and the Rainbow Curse, which have yet to receive ports. Nonetheless, finally having all of the Xenoblade games available on Switch is definitely a win for fans. Feel free to check out the brand new announcement trailer down below. STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT Announced, Scheduled for 2025 Release

During the STEINS;GATE 15th Live -One World-, an event celebrating the 15th anniversary of the visual novel, a new title was announced. STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT, a remake of the original visual novel, is scheduled to release in 2025. It will be based off the original visual novel, not the more recent Elite release, and will feature new graphics and additional story. The visual novel’s original character designer, huke, returns to work on RE:BOOT.

Ys X: Nordics Now Available on Switch, PS4, PS5, and PC

Ys X: Nordics, the latest entry chronicling the adventures of Adol Christin, is now available in North America and Europe on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG).

Ys X is available both physically and digitally. A physical limited edition for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch is available via NIS America’s Online Store. Yakuza Kiwami – Now Available for Nintendo Switch

Yakuza Kiwami is now officially available for Nintendo Switch. This isn’t the first time Yakuza has made its way onto a Nintendo system, but it is the first time a Nintendo version of one of the games has made its way to the West. Feel free to check out the brand new launch trailer, down below. You can purchase the game today in the eShop for $19.99. If you’d like a physical copy, there are pre-orders available via Limited Run Games. However, it looks like they’re not scheduled to ship until about Spring of 2025. Also, the Standard Edition is $34.99, obviously that’s a bit higher priced than the digital copy that’s now available in the eShop.

KONAMI has announced that they’re turning EDENS ZERO, a manga by Hiro Mashima: who’s known for creating FAIRY TAIL and RAVE MASTER, into an action RPG. The press release states that this RPG will be releasing for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Windows and Steam sometime in 2025. Farmagia is Available for Pre-Order

Marvelous has opened pre-orders for their monster-farming/action game, Farmagia. The game will be releasing for Windows PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5 on Nov. 1, 2024. There are a couple different digital editions to choose from, a Standard Edition will set you back $49.99 on the Nintendo Switch while a Digital Deluxe Edition will run $59.99. The deluxe edition includes a digital artbook and soundtrack, plus the “Buddy Booster Pack” DLC. Both will come with an exclusive “Jolly Snowtan” Buddy Skin DLC at no additional cost, which includes a wintry skin for your monster plus a set of helpful items.

In the world of Felicidad farmers known as Farmagia raise and command monsters, who live in harmony under the watchful eye of the Magus Diluculum. The yuri, or girls-loving-girls, experts have announced they’ve released 4 new titles for fans of the genre. In case you’re not familiar, their work extends to my favorite, Heart of the Woods, and publishing others like Without a Voice. These visual novels are all small in length but have beautiful stories to tell. The best part about all of this? All 4 titles are free because they’re part of an internal game jam! Let’s get to the games. The first one is Upwards, Rain!

Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End TV Anime Season 2 Announced

During a special screening to celebrate the anime’s 1st anniversary, a second season was announced for Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End. MADHOUSE returns to produce the anime, and the second season’s story will start from chapter 61, volume 7 of the original manga.

Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End is a manga written by Kanehito Yamada and illustrated by Tsukasa Abe. It is published by Shogakukan in Weekly Shonen Sunday. The manga is licensed by Viz Media for release in North America. The anime’s first season was produced by MADHOUSE and ran for 28 episodes. It aired from September 2023 to March 2024 and Crunchyroll streamed the series in North America.

New Atelier Resleriana Announced for Consoles and PC

KOEI TECMO and Gust have announced a new Atelier Resleriana game for consoles and PC. Atelier Resleriana: The Red Alchemist & the White Guardian will be headed to PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam sometime next year, 2025. The press release states that this is a new game set in the same universe as Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator. REYNATIS is Out Now

NIS America has released their urban fantasy set in a realistic recreation of Shibuya, REYNATIS. The team has announced the game will receive a free content update on the first of every month through April 1, 2025. These updates will include new story episodes for main characters Marin Kirizumi and Sari Nishijima and a secret episode filled with new action, magical clashes, and additional story.

REYNATIS is out now on Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5 and PC via Steam.

DYNASTY WARRIORS: ORIGINS Gameplay Details

At TGS 2024 Koei Tecmo has revealed more details about the upcoming DYNASTY WARRIORS: ORIGINS. Players will travel the world map taking on missions as they choose to help government forces or the rebellions. The game will require a bit more strategy then before as players can issue a variety of “Tactics” to their allies during battle. This will allow you to coordinate your forces and when you have gathered enough fighters to have a large army, “Grand Tactics” will be your disposal as well.

The game will release on Jan. 17, 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC via Steam.

Journeying through the Three Kingdoms, players will fight alongside companions and wage fierce battles against some of ancient China’s most formidable foes. Scheduled for release on Jan. 17, 2025 on PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC via Steam®, DYNASTY WARRIORS: ORIGINS promises to deliver the most intense combat of any game in franchise history.

From the “Yellow Turban Rebellion” to the climax of the “Battle of Chibi”, the story of DYNASTY WARRIORS: ORIGINS will transport players to the heart of an ancient China in turmoil. Through the eyes of a nameless hero, players will have to make choices in order to restore peace and shape history to their own experience.

Travelling across the world map as they embark on their epic journey, players can suppress rebellions or choose to rescue government forces during “Missions”, overcome “Skirmishes”, and visit various locations where they will be able to buy weapons. Throughout their quest, players will also encounter a variety of characters familiar to the DYNASTY WARRIORS franchise, such as Cao Cao and Liu Bei. Depending on the bond forged, these characters can become travelling companions, or an enemy.

Battles in DYNASTY WARRIORS: ORIGINS will require players to be more strategic than ever before. A variety of “Tactics” can be used to command their allies and coordinate forces. By gathering a large number of soldiers under their command, fans will also be able to form a “Large Force” which they can lead by deploying “Grand Tactics” maneuvers. This will allow players to radically change the course of a battle. However, users will need to keep an eye on their opponents, who will also be able to form a “Large Force” and will try to deploy their own “Grand Tactics” to win.

In 1 vs. 1,000 combat, players will have to master and alternate between swift and powerful attacks that can break an opponent’s guard. Repeated attacks will increase the protagonist’s “Bravery”, enabling them to use powerful and unique attacks called “Arts”. These “Arts” will be unique to each weapon, so it will be crucial for players to master the various arsenal at their disposal, allowing the protagonist to gain “Rank” and thus improving their skills.

Not only will players have to master the protagonist’s various attacks if they want to emerge victorious on the battlefield, but they will also have to strengthen their defense. By blocking enemy attacks at the right moment, they can unleash a powerful riposte, “Parry”, which creates a breach in the enemy’s defense. Some attacks cannot be blocked, so players will have to dodge them before counterattacking.

Finally, players will sometimes encounter powerful officers protected by an energy called “Resolution”. Players will have to work on reducing this “Resolution” to weaken them before they can launch a powerful “Assault” attack which can sometimes be the decisive coup de grâce.
