Today’s Nintendo E3 Direct included a new Resident Evil trailer, which revealed that two more games in the series are coming to the Nintendo Switch this fall. Those games would be Resident Evil 5, and Resident Evil 6. Here is the trailer:

In RE5, Umbrella and its viruses may have been taken care of, but a new catastrophe begins in Africa. Villagers are being turned into dangerously twisted, and aggressive creatures.

In RE6, some familiar fan-favorite characters return. They include Chris Redfield, Leon S. Kennedy, and Ada Wong. Alongside some new faces, they must contend with a new, terribly virulent threat: the C-virus. The story takes place in North America, Edonia (a war-torn Eastern European state), and the city of Lanshiang in China. Below are some screenshots from the Nintendo Direct:

Nintendo showed off a new trailer for Cadence of Hyrule in their E3 Direct presentation today. It shows a number of gameplay clips, and some of the game’s music of course. You can play as Cadence, Link, or Princess Zelda. Here is the trailer:

Cadence of Hyrule is a crossover of Crypt of the Necrodancer and The Legend of Zelda. Why? Because obviously it will move copies if you put the Zelda name on it. The game is set to release in two days on June 13th.

Today’s E3 2019 Nintendo Direct presentation had two pieces of Contra news for fans of the series. The first is a new game called Contra: Rogue Corps. The game features frenetic run-and-gun action, and you can take on your foes solo or team up with your friends and kick butt together. The game is set to arrive on the Nintendo Switch on September 24th, 2019. Here is the trailer:

The second piece of Contra news in the Nintendo E3 Direct was the Contra Anniversary Collection. It contains 10 different Contra games, plus a 74-page eBook. It’ll cost you $19.99 on the Nintendo eShop. It includes the following titles:

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is coming to the Nintendo Switch later this year. The game will come in its complete edition form, including every previously released piece of downloadable content. That includes two huge story expansions: Hearts of Stone & Blood and Wine.

It is not known exactly when the game will launch, but you can pre-order it now according to the new trailer they showed today. You’ll be able to enter the dark fantasy world of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on your Nintendo Switch sometime before the end of the year.

In Fire Emblem: Three Houses, war looms on the horizon in the land of Fódlan. The great Officers Academy is hosted within the headquarters of the Church of Seiros. The church keeps order in Fódlan, but it seems that is about to change for the worse. You have been invited to teach one of the three powerful houses. Each house is represented by a royal member from one of the three territories of Fódlan. You’ll need to lead your students to victory in turn-based battles of strategy, but first you’ll need to choose which house to serve.

The battles ahead will bring new twists for players to surmount, and your choice of which house to serve will greatly affect where you find yourself when the continent descends into war and chaos. Five years after studying together at the academy, former friends now separated by bitterness must face each other in battle amid the flames of war. The house and path you choose will determine your fate. Fire Emblem: Three Houses is set to launch on July 26th, 2019.

This, along with a number of Nintendo’s other first party games show one thing Nintendo is very good at: unique art styles. The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening remake was first debuted earlier this year. The new E3 trailer showed off a little more of the game, including one major new feature that Nintendo has added in. It seems that as you adventure your way around Koholint Island and through the dangers that lie ahead, you will earn chambers. Related to this, we saw a familiar character, good old Dampe the grave keeper (of Zelda: Ocarina of Time fame). You can visit him somewhere on the island, and use the chambers (which are dungeon rooms) you’ve unlocked so far to create and play custom dungeons it seems.

Presumably you will be able to share your custom dungeons online, but this was not shown in the trailer at all. In the trailer, we see a heart shaped dungeon being created. Beyond this, we did not get to see any other options, such as if and how you can change the dungeon’s shape and size. The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening is not far off. Mark your calendar and get ready to set out on your next adventure on September 20th, 2019! Lastly, here are a handful of screenshots of the game in action:

Nintendo showed a new trailer for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, showing off the game, some new mechanics, and the fact that the game takes place on a deserted island. The visuals are of course a significant step up from the last home console game (Animal Crossing: City Folk), especially since that was back on the Wii, not the Wii U. The trailer also showed off some new game mechanics, such as jumping over a stream using a pole and creating paths. We also see her growing a small garden and crafting things.

At the end of the Animal Crossing: New Horizons trailer, they show a number of human characters gathering at the beach, which of course suggests there are a number of playable characters to choose from. It’s either that, or you may have some human neighbors this time. The bad news, is that the game has been delayed until March 20th, 2020. During the E3 2019 Nintendo Direct, Nintendo showed off a new trailer for the Platinum Games-developed Astral Chain. The trailer shows off a large amount of the combat in the upcoming action game, and the flashy techniques that players will be able to pull off together with their Legions.

The trailer also teases some of the story, showing off some of the otherworldly environments where players will be engaging the various enemies. Players will be able to actively switch between different Legions for different combat styles to approach different situations, while fighting to protect what’s left of the human race.

Astral Chain is set to release on Nintendo Switch on August 30, 2019.

During the Super Smash Bros Ultimate tournament at the Nintendo World Championships just before E3, Masahiro Sakurai announced that the next DLC character would be revealed during the E3 2019 Nintendo Direct. However, what we got during the Direct was not one DLC character announcement, but two.

The first announcement was one teased by dataminers: the protagonist from Dragon Quest XI, known as The Hero:

In addition to the Dragon Quest XI protagonist, The Hero will have alternate costumes of the protagonists from Dragon Quest III, IV, and VIII, as well as several others appearing in his Final Smash. He also seems to have a unique MP meter, which he can consume by casting various spells.

The second character, revealed near the end of the Direct, was a long-awaited one: Banjo and Kazooie, from the now Microsoft-owned Banjo-Kazooie series:

The Banjo and Kazooie trailer is very similar to King K. Rool’s reveal, even using the same fake-out joke with Duck Hunt, only for Banjo to jump in before showing off what they can do in the game.

The Hero will be Challenger Pack 2 launching this summer, while Banjo and Kazooie will be added in the fall as Challenger Pack 3, both as part of the Super Smash Bros Ultimate Fighters Pass.

At the tail end of the E3 2019 Nintendo Direct, Nintendo had one more surprise for viewers up their sleeve: a teaser trailer providing a first look at the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

Unfortunately there’s not much to go on from this minute-and-a-half-long teaser trailer, and we don’t know anything concrete about the game aside from the fact that it’s a sequel to Breath of the Wild and that it will be released on the Switch; anything beyond that is just speculation. Based on the generally eerie tone of the trailer, it seems like the game may take on a somewhat darker tone than its predecessor, but again, ultimately we need to wait for more information.

Bandai Namco has just announced that Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch Remastered will be headed to PS4 and PC and the original version as is, will also be getting ported to Nintendo Switch. Both are scheduled to launch on September 20th. The PS4/PC version will contain visual enhancements, allowing players to play with 1080p resolution and in 60 fps. Or, on PS4 Pro you can pick between either 4k with 30 fps, or 1440p at 60fps. On Nintendo Switch the game will run at 720p with 30 fps in both TV mode and handheld. Bandai Namco’s brand manager, Randy Le, says, “For those who missed this amazing adventure, or those who would like to feel the magic again, these two Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch releases represent the perfect opportunity to get lost in a world of wonder, danger, love, and friendship. NIS America just announced this morning that Disgaea 4 Complete+ will be coming to PS4 and Nintendo Switch. Currently there’s only a vague launch time frame of this fall. And what does that plus sign mean you ask? Well, we don’t know exactly just yet, but they state that not only does this release contain all the additional characters, scenarios and DLC ever released for Disgaea 4, but it also will contain brand new tweaks and functionality updates. That could have something to do with the plus in the title. Also, NIS America will be streaming the game later today on Twitch at 5pm Pacific time. Check out the announcement trailer down below.

Square Enix shared a new trailer for the PS4 version of Dragon Quest Builders 2 at their E3 event. They’ve also announced a bit of new info. But these announcements seem to only be for the PS4 version at the moment. We have no new announcements yet for the Nintendo Switch version of Dragon Quest Builders 2. Regardless, the game launches for both PS4 and Nintendo Switch this upcoming July 12th.

Now first of all, they’ve announced that there will be a playable demo available on PS4 on June 27th. Second, they announced some pre-order perks. Everyone who pre-orders will get in game recipes for a medicinal herb decoration, a Dragon Quest logo decoration and a chimaera wing decoration. Also, physical pre-orders from select retailers will get a magnet sheet which features the heroes, building blocks, and slimes. Digital pre-orders come with in game sigil block recipes featuring a sun, stars, moon, water and soul. Plus, there will be a Dragon Quest Builders 2 PS4 theme for pre-ordering digitally as well.

Lastly, don’t forget that the game will have a season pass available for purchase. The season pass comes with three packs that are set to release later on after launch. The first pack it includes is the Hotto Stuff Pack, which has over 40 recipes to create things in the Hotto Steppe style, in addition to a new island containing the required materials. The second pack is the Aquarium Pack. It unlocks a fishing island, fishing rod, customization options, various apparel and the ability to catch and breed 40 different fish which can be added to your DIY aquarium. And finally is the Modernist Pack. This is a pack with over 70 recipes to make modern structures and it comes with extra hairstyles and clothing. The season pass will cost you $20.99. Or, you can purchase the digital deluxe edition which includes the season pass and gets you a stackable slime recipe. But wait, there’s more. The season pass alone contains, a pair of in-game Designer’s Sunglasses and that will be available on July 12th, the game’s release day. And if you have a save file from the original Dragon Quest Builders game, you’ll get the classic builder outfit from that title and a Dragonlord’s throne recipe.

The last one of Square Enix’s Final Fantasy PS1 trio to be ported to current gen consoles, is finally receiving it’s long awaited remaster. Square Enix announced near the end of their E3 showcase that Final Fantasy VIII is headed to Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One and Steam later this year. During the Square Enix Live Presentation at E3 2019, more details were revealed for Final Fantasy VII Remake. First off, Yoshinori Kitase came out and mentioned that they anticipated the game would have two Blu-ray discs worth of gameplay content. Next, Neal Pabon, the Senior Manager of Product Marketing, came out and spoke about the game’s combat system.

Final Fantasy VII Remake will utilize a hybrid system of real time action and strategic turn-based combat. Players use the Square button utilize normal attacks with Cloud’s Buster Sword. There are two ATB bars below the player’s HP gauge which slowly refill overtime. The ATB bar can be refilled even faster if the player hits the enemy with a normal attack. Once the bar is full, players can enter Tactical Mode which slows down time and a command menu with different options pops up. Players can use abilities such as Cloud’s Braver attack or use an item, both of which depletes the ATB bar. Using magic depletes both the MP bar and ATB bar. Players can also seamlessly switch between party members with a single button press. Party members will continue to fight even if you’re not controlling them. You can also issue commands to party members that have full ATB bars. As you do damage to an enemy, a focus gauge will fill up. When the gauge is full, the enemy is staggered and you will do bonus damage to the enemy. If a player wants faster paced action, they can assign abilities to a shortcut menu instead of bringing up the command menu when the ATB bar is full.

After this, they showed an extended trailer for the game. The game showcases some more gameplay and features the long-awaited debut of Tifa. You can check out that trailer before.

A Deluxe Edition and 1st Class Edition were revealed for Final Fantasy VII Remake as well. The 1st Class Edition is available exclusively from Square Enix’s Online Store. You can check those out below.

At E3 2019, Bandai Namco Entertainment released a new trailer for their much anticipated and upcoming game, Code Vein. The trailer reveals that the game will launch on September 27, 2019. You can check out that trailer below.
