One of the most beloved JRPGs from the Sega Saturn and PS1 era is getting a new special edition vinyl and music box release thanks to Wayô Records.

“Working on the Grandia soundtrack and music box project has been a ‘grand’ adventure for all of us,” says Wayô Records producer Jonathan Khersis. “As passionate fans of the Grandia franchise, we wanted to have as much as possible a strong collaboration with the original creative team, and we are really excited to offer this new cover design by Grandia‘s animation director, Toshiaki Hontani. More than ten years passed since we met with composer Noriyuki Iwadare for the first time, and today we can’t be more happy with releasing one of his masterpieces in these gorgeous editions together with Game Arts and the composer. The Grandia Memorial Soundtrack offers a selection of tracks from across the series and Vent arrangement album, and a new illustration by Grandia designer Toshiaki Hontani across 3xLP. Wayô Records is releasing the acclaimed Mega Drive soundtracks to Streets of Rage and Streets of Rage II, composed by Yuzo Koshiro, in digital, CD, and cassette tape formats.

The new CD release of Streets of Rage II follows Wayô Records’s 2017 digital and CD release of the first game’s soundtrack with new commentary from Koshiro and a 17-minute-long megamix by composer Shinji Hosoe. A digital release of the second game’s soundtrack will follow in the coming months and both will also be released on cassette tape for the first time ever. The fan-favorite but difficult-to-find soundtracks are known the world over and have been a topic of documentaries for their strong dance music inspirations.

“We are excited to work again with composer Yuzo Koshiro to release the Streets of Rage II Perfect Soundtrack featuring an exclusive brand new mix by Shinji Hosoe,” says Wayô Records producer Jonathan Khersis. “For the very first time, we will also release a tape edition of both soundtracks. This is undoubtedly the ultimate retro format as many of us likely have childhood memories of recording our favorite game music on cassette tapes given how hard game soundtracks were to come by. Little Big Adventure, a stylistic action-adventure game from Adeline Software International and published by EA, is celebrating it’s 25th anniversary with a Kickstarter campaign to release a brand new symphonic soundtrack through Wayô Records. Officially licensed and lead by the game’s composer, Philippe Vachey.

Backers of the campaign can of course receive the soundtrack with both digital and physical options being available. For about $17 USD backers will get the digital soundtrack, $28 will get you a CD, and for $55 you can even get it on vinyl. As part of their award-winning Prescription for Sleep: Game Music Libraries series, Scarlet Moon Records has revealed their seventh release- Prescription for Sleep: Celeste. This album will include an arrangement of pieces from the critically-acclaimed Celeste, which released at the beginning of this year to positive reviews. This album is special in that it is actually a collaboration between the composer of Celeste (Lena Raine) and several other well-established artists. The performing artists include violinist Maiko and GENTLE LOVE- a duo that includes Norihiko Hibino (composer of the Metal Gear Solid and Bayonetta series) and AYAKI (pianist for the Etrian Odyssey series and PersonaQ). The album itself was also arranged by Norihiko and is described as a jazzy, lullaby-like take on a number of fan-favorite tracks from the game. There are 11 tracks in total, including one all-original track at the end.

Prescription for Sleep: Celeste is available for pre-order right now on Bandcamp. The digital version of the album will release on November 2, 2018. There is also a limited-edition CD that will release a month later on December 1, 2018. Fans who weren’t interested in importing the physical soundtrack for Xenoblade Chronicles 2 are in luck. The official soundtrack is now available digitally on iTunes.

The Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Original Soundtrack is composed of 105 songs, 5 hours and 26 minutes total. The official iTunes page lists Yasunori Mitsuda, ACE (TOMOri KUDO, ChiCO), Kenji Hiramatsu, and Manami Kiyota as the composers. You can buy the whole soundtrack for $67.99. Alternatively, you can buy individual songs for $2.19 each.

The soundtrack also releases today physically in Japan. Multiple releases were made available, including completed USB and CD versions that include 21 extra songs.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2, the game, is available now for the Nintendo Switch.

Square Enix have announced that the official soundtrack for their upcoming Switch exclusive RPG Octopath Traveler will be getting a full 4-disc release in Japan.

It will be available alongside the main game when it releases worldwide on 13th July. It will cost 4,104 yen.

Square Enix are publishing both the game and the OST in Japan. Nintendo will be releasing the game worldwide. No word on whether the OST will release worldwide.

Nintendo and Being Inc. have announced that they are releasing an official soundtrack for the Switch exclusive platform game Super Mario Odyssey on 28th February next year in Japan. It will cost 4,600 yen plus tax. The soundtrack contains 136 tracks on 4 CDs as well as both vocal tracks “Jump Up, Super Star!” and “Break Free! (Lead the Way!)”. The song lyrics will be in English and both vocal and karaoke versions will be included.

The soundtrack for Super Mario Odyssey was previously only available on iTunes in Japan. As for the game, that is now available worldwide exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.

VisualArt’s has released the full single for “Little Busters!”, the opening theme for the original version of the game of the same name, on Steam as DLC for Little Busters! English Edition. The single is currently available for free, but after a week passes it will no longer be free.

The single, originally released by Key Sounds Label in 2007, contains six tracks: original opening “Little Busters!”, insert theme “Haruka Kanata” (sometimes translated as “Faraway”), Komari and Haruka’s ending theme “Alicemagic”, and off-vocal versions of those three songs. It includes all tracks in both MP3 and FLAC formats, plus the CD jacket with the cover art and song lyrics, albeit in Japanese.

The single was released as a celebration of the original game’s 10^th anniversary, and seemingly as an apology for the technical issues that Little Busters! English Edition experienced at launch (which have since been patched). Full information can be found in the announcement in the Steam Community for the game.
