ConnecTank is a unique action game that blends a bit of rogue-lite with a touch of puzzle and some tank battles. Throw in a quirky story about making deliveries in a tank, a cartoon aesthetic, and goofy music, and you have the full package. Do you have what it takes to best your foes and get your deliveries to their destinations?

Each mission features an overworld map where you get to choose your route. The path you take determines which foes you will encounter, and which shops you will have a chance to visit. Some foes are more powerful than others, so choosing your route is important. You may also want to choose a route because it has more enemies who will net you tank parts. Once you unlock all the parts for a given tank, it will become available for you to select before missions.

Upon bumping into an enemy tank, battle commences. Each tank battle begins with an assembly phase. You must set up conveyor belts to connect your assembly machine to your cannon. Then you can start throwing in scrap to create ammo. You’ll need to use scrap carefully by following one of the three recipes at the top of the tank deck. If you don’t, you will create weak trash ammo. Ammo comes in three colors: red, blue, and yellow. They have a triangle, similar to the weapon types in Fire Emblem. Red beats yellow, yellow beats blue, blue beats red. Sometimes, the enemy tank can spawn enemies on your deck. You’ll need to take them out to stop them from wreaking havoc with your machines! If you die, you’ll fall back to the mission select screen.

Each ConnecTank battle earns you a bit of money. You can spend it in shops you encounter on the mission map or save it for later. In between missions, you can use it to unlock new ammo types and perks. Different ammo types have various perks, both good and bad. For example, one might take up two lanes on the top of the screen as it hurdles toward your enemy. Another might inflict burn damage, or even bounce back at you in some cases.

The missions you take on in ConnecTank determine which of the business titans will rule in the end. You can see this on the TV in the top-right of the screen on the mission select screen. At first, you can only do one preselected mission from Finneas Fat Cat XV each time. However, after you get through the tutorial missions, you’ll have a selection to choose from.

ConnecTank is a fun little game to be sure. It will keep you busy for a while, especially if you aim to complete and unlock everything as far as ammo types and perks. You’ll be looking at 20-30 hours at least. ConnecTank is available on the Nintendo Switch eShop for $29.99, as well as on other platforms. Can you blast your way through foes and stay in one piece, to get your packages where they need to go?

PLAYISM has unfortunately said that on Steam the science-fiction deduction RPG, Gnosia, was delayed. It will now arrive on the platform at an as-yet-undisclosed date early this year.

The developers (Petit Depotto) also apologized for the delay and stated that the release date will be revealed in an upcoming announcement. The game has already launched on the PlayStation Vita and Nintendo Switch consoles. However, they say the Steam version needed more time to have the same quality level as those versions.

The “Gnosia” is an unknown threat, and the crew of a ship stranded in space must deal with this threat. They decided that it was necessary to send any suspicious crew members to be put into “cold sleep” to protect the rest. The question is, which crew members are deadly Gnosia. Players will have to figure out who they are are by collecting information and following it to them. Your abilities may improve, but it will get harder to discern who the suspicious crewmen are. This will happen as you face increasingly larger numbers of both crew and Gnosia on the ship.

Gnosia is a social deduction RPG on Steam that is priced at $24.99. It supports English, Japanese, and Simplified Chinese.

The first featured title in Nintendo’s press release this week is Rocket League. The sports/racing game first released in late 2017. It is now free-to-play on the Nintendo Switch. Dive into the mayhem. “Unlock items in Rocket Pass, climb the Competitive Ranks, compete in Competitive Tournaments, complete Challenges, enjoy cross-platform progression and more!”

Fortnite – Winterfest 2021 unleashes special quests, presents, and Spider-Man: No Way Home outfits. The Winterfest activities will close on January 6th, 2022.

The third featured title this week is Garden Story. Take on the role of the Guardian of the Grove. Help the residents take back their grove by combating the spreading rot that threatens to consume it. You’ll need the help of your fruit-shaped friends to help you in this adventure. Indie game developer, Sabotage, has announced that Sea of Stars, its upcoming turn-based RPG, will be coming to the Switch next holiday season. Sabotage does warn, however, that this release window may change should the game need more time in development. They want to properly finish and polish up the game before its launch.

A new trailer was also unveiled at the recent Nintendo Indie World event. The new trailer includes footage exclusively from the Switch version of the game. Optimization of the Switch version has already been underway for some time they say. Sabotage also announced that Kakehashi Games is helping with Japanese and Korean translations. They also did the localization of The Messenger.

Sea of Stars is a follow-up to The Messenger, which launched in 2018. Both games take place within the same universe. This new one follows Valere and Zale, two young solstice warriors who must take on The Fleshmancer. They must take on the evil alchemist’s monstrous creations and stop him.

In order to defeat opponents, players will need to utilize adaptive strategy, careful timing, pre-emptive attacks, and more. There are a total of six different party members in Sea of Stars. Each character is packed with a unique personality and combat style, but experimentation is the key to success. The game also emphasizes pitting players against meaningful encounters rather than repetitively sending players into the same fights time and again.

Key Features

• Engaging Turn-based Combat: Pressing the action button in sync with the animations increases damage output while reducing incoming damage. Along with timed hits, combat features multi-character combo attacks, boosting, and a strategic “locks” system offering options to play with different damage types in order to hinder enemies while they are channeling powerful attacks or spells, all in an immersive take on the genre; no random encounters, no transitions to separate battlefields, and no grinding.

• Unshackled Traversal: Swim, climb, vault, jump off or hoist up ledges as you traverse seamlessly through the world with a navigation system based on platformer expertise that breaks free from the classic bound-to-the-grid tileset movement.

• A Story Rich Adventure: Dozens of original characters and story arcs will take you on a captivating journey. Sometimes epic, sometimes silly, and other times emotional, Sea of Stars does its RPG duty of exploring classic themes of adventure and friendship, while also being chock-full of the unexpected twists and events you’d expect from a Sabotage production.

• All Fun, No Tedium: Enjoy combat without fear of hitting a wall and having to grind for experience or items; in Sea of Stars, defeat requires a change in battle plans, not hours of repetition to better the odds in a rematch.

The 2D side-scrolling action platformer, Dungeon Munchies, just launched for Nintendo Switch yesterday. You’ll be hunting monsters to use as ingredients to help Undead-Chef, Simmer, create delicious dishes to chow down on!

Also available on Switch as of yesterday is the board game collection, Let’s Play! Oink Games. From deep-sea treasure hunts, catching a rogue, recovering astronaut supplies, to startup investing, there are a number of board games to choose from. Furthermore, all of the games can be played in either local or online mode.

Painting adventure, Chicory: A Colorful Tale also landed on the Switch yesterday. This is a game about becoming somebody in a coloring book world. Superstar artist, Chicory, has vanished and along with her so has all the color in the land. You happen to be her biggest fan. So naturally, it’s up to you to take her place by wielding the Brush. You’ll help friends, solve puzzles, explore, and make a difference in the world!

The Switch also gained stealth, puzzle-adventure, Timelie, yesterday. Scroll back and forth through time like you’re watching a video. Foresee the future to break free from the past. Control a young girl who possesses precognitive abilities and a cat at the same time. Timing their actions will be important in helping them progress and ultimately escape from the past.

Coming on December 17th, we have puzzle-platformer, Aspire: Ina’s Tale. One day, Ina awakens to find she’s been sleeping in a strange tower. After awakening, she must begin searching for a way out. As her adventure unfolds, she’ll uncover the reasons for being locked away here, and discover that she can be so much more than her past self. Unfortunately, the closer she gets to escape, the farther she is from innocence.

As you may be aware, the fantasy action RPG, Elden Ring, earned the “Most Anticipated Game Award” last night during The Game Awards 2021 event. During the show, they also dropped a brand new story trailer for the game. Naturally, FromSoftware and BANDAI NAMCO wish to thank both fans and the judges for this honor. Elden Ring is set to arrive in the Americas on PC (Steam), Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4 on February 25th.

The brand new Elden Ring trailer shows off more of the game and sheds new light on the bloody past of the game’s massive world. It is a world full of mysteries and formidable foes. Since the game is rated “M for Mature” by the ESRB, you’ll have to hop over to YouTube to view it:

Life is Strange: True Colors arrived on the Switch two days ago. As such, the next era of the series is now playable on the go. Alex possesses the ability (or maybe curse) of being able to experience and take in the emotions of others. She can even manipulate these feelings. Furthermore, Alex can also see these emotions as colored auras. However, as fate would have it, this ability becomes pivotal in finding the truth after her brother dies in a “so-called accident”.

Loop Hero just hit the Nintendo Switch today. The Lich has spiraled the world into chaos by plunging it into a timeless loop. Use an expanding deck of cards to place terrain, buildings, and enemies. You’ll also need to collect powerful loot for each hero class, which will aid them in future battles. Meanwhile, you’ll also want to expand the survivors’ camp, and unlock new cards, classes, perks, and guardians. Can you end the cycle of chaos that plagues the land?

Also just launching today is the crafting game, Wytchwood. You are a mysterious witch in the woods living in a world of gothic fables. Collect ingredients to brew enchantments. Research new spells and cast judgment on various characters and creatures. The moral of the story is up to you, so what is it?

Next up, Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon lands on the Switch on December 13th. Shovel Knight will find himself up against tons of foes and bosses. Along the way, he’ll obtain better equipment, too. Adventure as your favorite heroes in a roguelite puzzle hybrid as each twist of this tale unfolds before you. Alternatively, you can also take on a buddy in some friendly competition.

Nintendo Switch Online

As you may have heard, Paper Mario has now joined the N64 library on Nintendo Switch Online.

Square Enix has partnered with the nine-time Grammy nominee, Sia. The result is the new Fly Me to The Moon music video. It celebrates the December 7th launch of Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker. Once it arrives, players will even journey to the moon in the game. The video celebrates the nearly decade-long growth that Final Fantasy XIV Online has undergone so far. To date, over 25 million players have stepped into the MMORPG around the globe so far.

Sia has also teamed up with NASA to create Floating Through Space, a song celebrating the Ingenuity test flight. It can be found on her latest album and directorial movie debut Music. She has also written songs for many famous singers.

The new Fly Me to The Moon video is inspired by Final Fantasy XIV Online and of course, includes vocals by Sia. It brings the story to life in a new way, and fans can also listen to it on a number of different digital music services. Among them are Amazon Music, iTunes, Spotify, YouTube, and more.

Meanwhile, Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker will arrive for PC, Mac, and PlayStation 4 next week on December 7th. The Endwalker expansion pack will cap off the Hydaelyn and Zodiark story arch, which started in the A Realm Reborn expansion pack. The events of the Endwalker expansion see Warriors of Light run into disaster on a scale they’ve never seen before. Their quest will even take them to the moon and the farthest corners of Hydaelyn, as new and old players alike embark on brand new adventures.

Twogether: Project Indigos Chapter 1 is a third-person puzzle adventure that just launched on the PlayStation store (PlayStation 4). It is available only as a digital title for $8.99. Two youth (Sam and Rafi) find themselves trapped within the walls of the dark Hexacells research facility. If they are to escape, they will have to learn the art of teamwork, cooperation, and friendship.

Rafi possesses telekinetic powers while Sam can teleport himself. They’ll have to utilize each other’s special abilities as a team to overcome the puzzles and obstacles that lay ahead. The two will have to pay close attention to their surroundings for clues as to what to do next and how to get one step closer to freedom.

As you make your way through the dark halls of the Hexacells research facility, you’ll discover the value of true friendship. Sam and Rafi will have to solve puzzles and uncover the dark secrets of this place along the way.

It’s time to return to the Sinnoh region and become the best trainer there is! Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl have just arrived on the Nintendo Switch! The pair of adventures have been remade on the hybrid console for a new generation of players. Originally released on the Nintendo DS in 2006, these games now include some more modern features pulled from newer entries in the franchise.

Step back into the Sinnoh region and meet Professor Rowan. Then team up with Chimchar, Piplup, or Turtwig and set out for adventure! There is plenty to explore in the region, such as the Grand Underground. You’ll also find yourself up against Team Galactic, so you’d better make sure your team is well-trained and ready for battle. Your opponents will only get stronger the deeper into the adventure you go after all.

You can get the legendary Dialga in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond or Palkia in Pokémon Shining Pearl. There is also a bundle pack that includes both of the games. So if you “gotta catch ’em all”, you can. The Pokémon Company is excited to finally bring these remakes to trainers everywhere. The Thunderful World Digital Showcase on November 10th was led by SteamWorld Headhunter. The Thunderful Games event featured a total of 16 different games in all. Their goal was to unveil exciting new titles in their lineup and to provide updates on previously announced ones.

SteamWorld Headhunter is a colorful and stylized third-person cooperative adventure. However, there is of course a “head-popping” twist! The game aims to maintain the style the series is known for while transitioning into the realm of 3D games.

The new press release highlights six of the 16 games from the showcase. The second one is the Xbox/Windows Store exclusive, The Gunk. It will launch on December 16th, and it will be on Xbox Game Pass. You’ll be able to play it on Xbox One, and Xbox Series X | S.

“The Gunk is a third-person sci-fi exploration adventure about a duo of gritty space haulers, Rani and Becks, struggling to make a buck as they chance upon a mysterious planet laden with a wealth of natural resources. While cashing in on the planet’s seemingly bountiful riches, they encounter the gunk and realise its detrimental effect on the planet, creating a moral dilemma for the duo.”

Wavetale is already on Stadia and is coming to PC and Consoles in 2022. The third-person action-adventure features a heart-warming story and stirring soundtrack with hand-drawn visuals.

“Explore an open sea and the decaying archipelago of Strandville as you take control of Sigrid, a young girl who befriends a mysterious shadow that provides her with the power to walk on water. Speed through the waves, swing yourself from housetops with your net, and defeat an old nemesis to save the citizens of the islands, all with a bit of help from the shadows down below—and your cranky grandmother.”

Coming to PC, Xbox Series X | S, and PlayStation 5 on December 7th is White Shadows. It’s a cinematic 2.5D puzzle platformer with monochromatic visual stylings. Follow the story of Ravengirl as she tries to escape the dystopian White City!

“The White City combines an industrial steampunk aesthetic with that of a sci-fi dystopia, resulting in a truly unique setting. This modern fable offers a relatable human story laced with social criticism.”

From Regular Studio comes Togges, a 3D platformer where players need to spread and stack adorable cubes known as Togges. Combine their colors and abilities to solve puzzles and make your way through the world. You’ll also need to interact with the denizens of this world.

 “Togges is chock full of open-ended levels set across stunning environments: from a futuristic city in the Savannah, to a realm made entirely of carrot cake, the universe is a strange and wonderful place indeed! With its hilarious story, innovative gameplay and gorgeous visuals, Togges is every platforming fans’ dream.”

The press release rounds things out with Cursed to Golf, a golf-like adventure. This one is coming to PC and consoles sometime in 2022. You are a Golf Champion trapped in Golf Purgatory after you were halted by an unfortunate lightning strike! If you want to make it back to the world of the living, you’ll have to overcome 18 “dungeon-like holes”.

“This new look at the game gives a quick overview of the story and the Ace Cards, one of the key gameplay mechanics that will give you an upper hand against the devilishly difficult holes of Golf Purgatory. There’s so much still to share about what makes Cursed to Golf a real hole in one, so keep your eyes peeled for more soon!”

Our first featured game this week, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition just launched. Play the three classics Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas on your switch whenever and wherever you want. The games have been updated with quality-of-life touches like improved graphics and GTA V-style controls and targeting.

Our next game, Shin Megami Tensei V, lands on the switch tomorrow. During a simple walk home, the protagonist ends up unconscious and buried! Upon waking, he finds himself in an apocalypse-torn wasteland called Da’at, a new, ravaged version of Tokyo. Fortunately, salvation reaches him before demons could get to him, and he joins forces with his savior to become a powerful new being. STAR WARS: Knights of the Old Republic is available now on the Nintendo Switch. The classic RPG takes place four millennia before the Galactic Empire. You are the final hope of the Jedi Order, as countless Jedi before you have already fallen to the Sith. It’s up to you to master the Force to save the Republic. Will you triumph or join the ranks of the dark side?

Finally, we round out this section with The Wild at Heart, which arrives on November 16th. Two runaways must piece together the mysteries of this lost realm. A growing herd of odd creatures is yours to control. Use them to battle monsters, repair broken roads, and solve puzzles in a deep, interconnected world.

Nintendo Switch Online members can try out The World Ends with You: Final Remix in a free trial until 11:59 p.m. on November 23rd. Meanwhile, the follow-up game, NEO: The World Ends with You is 30% off until 11:59 p.m. on November 19th.

Tormented Souls is a survival horror game inspired by the classic Resident Evil games and the Alone in the Dark series. Step into the shoes of Caroline Walker as she investigates Winterlake, a horrible mansion that went on to become a hospital. Uncover the truth in the disappearance of two twin girls along with the dark secrets of this wretched place! Terrible, unspeakable things have taken place within these walls.

As you explore Winterlake, you’ll encounter nasty monsters. For example, the Wheel Monsters are in wheelchairs. According to the website, they were once elderly dementia patients abandoned by their families. Their new caretakers then turned them into the hostile abominations they are now. These are certainly not the only deformed monstrosities you’ll see, though. Some spit from a distance to deal damage. Meanwhile, the monster in the picture below is stationary and attacks if you try to walk by.

Tormented Souls aims to be a classic-style horror game. That means it also contains puzzles utilizing items you’ve found. Some items can be combined into new things like weapons, while others are just used once. You’ll also find diary entries scattered about the mansion, which reveal various bits of dark and unsettling lore.

As you might expect, Tormented Souls features movement and combat that has the clunky sort of feel of classic survival horror games. This can of course make combat a bit trickier at times, but it aims to stay true to the classics of the genre. The gameplay is simple but enjoyable. Also, the game has a limited save system like those classics. You have to collect reels of tape to record your progress. This is similar to collecting ink in Resident Evil so you could save your progress via a typewriter. However, save reels are pretty sparse in the early game when you’re learning the ropes, which can result in repeating stuff you already did a lot when you die.

The visuals in Tormented Souls are quite detailed, dark, and gritty. That’s pretty much what you’d expect in a horror game, and the environments are quite moody at times. I have noticed a number of instances where the GUI shows a right mouse button icon when it should be a left mouse button icon, though.

The music and sound really add to that moody atmosphere. The Winterlake mansion is a very eerie, tense place. You’ll often hear things before you see them, like an enemy clanking around nearby. These kinds of sounds always put you on edge if you hear them upon entering a room, especially if it is a very dark area!

Tormented Souls is a classic survival horror romp through the bowels of the Winterlake Mansion. Beware, as the place is infested with hostile terrors that will gladly end you. The game stays pretty true to the play style of the classics in the genre. It is a pretty decent survival horror adventure, though you might find it on the difficult side, especially if you’re new to such games. You can complete the adventure in 10-20 hours depending on how much you die. The game also includes three different endings to get. While Tormented Souls is currently available for $19.99 on Steam, Xbox Series X, and PlayStation 5, it will also be coming to Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 soon. Can you uncover the fate of the missing twins, or will you perish along the way?

BANDAI NAMCO has unleashed the first gameplay preview of Elden Ring. The narrated presentation is almost 20 minutes long, giving players an in-depth look at the upcoming game. It will launch on February 25th, 2022 for PC (Steam), Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4.

The new preview video details the vast world of Elden Ring. The world has been painstakingly crafted with secrets hiding everywhere! The “Lands Between” is an immense world of exploration that represents the largest game FromSoftware has undertaken yet. Travel the lands on your spectral steed as you uncover the secrets of the “Lands Between”.

Engage your foes with an arsenal of weapon and magic types from basic all the way to advanced. Delve into sprawling, multi-level dungeons loaded with classic FromSoftware level design. Plus, you can also join forces with a few friends to take on formidable foes together!

There are several different editions of Elden Ring that will be available. If you pre-order the game, you get a digital adventure guide, and a bonus gesture added into the game. Here is the pre-order video:
